If You Don't Trust My Word, How Are You Going to Burn for Me?
A 14-Day Study on Trust, Love & Total Surrender
Day 1 · Week 1 — God Is Love
Two Destinations. One Decision.
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
— Matthew 7:13-14
What It Means
Nobody likes to talk about this.
But Jesus did.
He didn't whisper it. He said it plainly, in the middle of His most famous sermon, to a crowd of thousands.
Two roads. Two destinations. One choice.
The wide road is easy. It's comfortable. It looks like everyone else is on it — because they are. It doesn't require trust. It doesn't require surrender. It doesn't require you to burn for anything.
And it leads to destruction.
The narrow road is harder. It costs you something. It requires you to actually believe what God said. It requires trust. It requires a life that looks different from the crowd.
And it leads to life.
Here's the thing nobody tells you: you're already on one of these roads right now. There's no neutral ground. There's no "I'll decide later." Every day you live is a day you're walking in one direction or the other.
God isn't trying to scare you. He's trying to love you enough to tell you the truth.
That's what love does. It doesn't hide the stakes. It lays them out clearly and says — I want you to choose well.
The choice is yours. It has always been yours.
Today's Application
Sit with this today: which road are you actually on? Not which road you intend to be on — which one does your daily life reflect? Write your honest answer. God already knows it. This is for you.
Journal
1. When you read Matthew 7:13-14, what is your honest reaction? Does it make you uncomfortable? Why or why not?
2. What does it mean to you that God tells you the truth about hard things — even when it's uncomfortable?
3. If someone looked at your daily life right now, which road would they say you're walking? What would need to change?
