Week 1 — Naming What Happened

Day 1 of 14

Day 1 · You Are Not Hidden

God Sees You

Scripture

Psalm 34:18

"The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."

Genesis 16:13

"She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: 'You are the God who sees me.'"

Reflection

Before we go anywhere else — I need you to know one thing.

God sees you.

Not just the version of you that shows up to church. Not just the you that holds it together in public.

He sees the you that cries in the car. The you that walks on eggshells in your own home. The you that wonders if you're the problem.

There's a woman in the Bible named Hagar. She was used, mistreated, and thrown away. She ran into the desert — alone.

And God showed up. Right there in the desert.

She called Him El Roi — the God who sees me.

That name is for you too.

Whatever you've been through — whatever is still happening — you are not invisible to God.

He is not indifferent to your pain. He is not asking you to just endure it.

He sees. He cares. And He is close to the brokenhearted.

Key Truth

You are not invisible. God sees exactly where you are — and He is close.

Today's Application

Say this out loud today: 'God sees me. I am not alone.'

You don't have to believe it fully yet. Just say it.

This week is about naming what happened. Not fixing it. Not figuring out what to do next.

Just naming it — so you can stop carrying it alone.

Journal Prompts

1. When did you first start feeling like something was wrong in your relationship? Describe that moment.

2. Have you ever felt like God wasn't paying attention to what you were going through? Write honestly about that.
